Commission A Portrait

All paintings on heirloom quality linen using the highest grade oils.

The first meeting takes place between the client and artist to determine basic portrait design, canvas size, pose, wardrobe, setting and lighting. THE CLIENT'S INPUT IS VERY IMPORTANT . A photo session takes place of up to 200 photos along with a preliminary sketch, skin tone, hair and eye color matches. This experience lasts about two hours.

The artist works from many different images, as her reference material, to produce the final painting. She strives for a painterly likeness as opposed to a slavish photographic reproduction. Whenever possible, the artist desires to paint at least two sittings from life.

A 20 percent deposit is requested at the time of initial photo shoot. The final payment is due upon portrait delivery.

The client is invited to view the painting before delivery for final approval. Photo images can be sent to out of state clients. The artist's sole goal is for you to absolutely adore the painting on your wall.

An extra varnishing takes place a year later if client requests, at no extra cost except for shipping or travel expenses - it takes that long for the deepest oil layers to dry!

Copyright remains with the artist on all artwork.
Artist will be happy to advise on framing.
Artist fee does not include tax, or travel costs.
